7/28/2015 IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll) - A PORTRAIT OF ANGUS YOUNGRead Now![]() - TheCrow - Angus, the maddest schoolboy of rock history, is the lead guitarist, co-founder and songwriter of the AC/DC. Beyond having an incredible talent, he’s famous for the way he moves on stage: his duck walk, his playing while slippering or while lying makes this Scottish born guitarist a living legend. He’s 60 and many started to think he should change his performances, but he keeps doing the same things, wearing his schoolboy uniform the way he’s done for ages. ![]() As a kid Angus was not a good student at all, even in music: his teacher considered him as “without the sense of rithm”. But he kept going, kept loving music and playing his guitar, with the precious help of his older brother Malcolm, who gave him, as a present, his first real guitar: a Hofner. After a while, Angus managed to buy his real love: The Gibson SG, by spending all his savings, earned working as a butler. When talking about that guitar, Angus reminds having warped it, through playing it too much, until the wooden handle got decomposed because of his sweat. During his career Angus has mostly played Gibson Sg; Standard, Special and Custom SG Reissue; very famous is the Devil Gibson SG 1968. He’s also used a Fender Telecaster, but only for a short whle: he’s Gibson-addicted!
